That's it, it's time to go back to school! I'm organizing my autumn recipe calendar, preparing to test, shoot and share many new ideas. This season will be busy for us, and I know it is true for many of you. Today, I share my favorite healthy breakfast ideas to make this messy day start again. You'll find foods that are best prepared and traveled in advance, those that are convenient and quick to get up in the morning, and even a few days, if you have more time for breakfast, you will find them very suitable.
Below, I share more than 60 healthy breakfast recipes in 11 categories (yes 11!): Oats, eggs, smoothies, bowls, instant bread, pancakes and waffles, breakfast tortillas, breakfast cookies, toast , Muffins and scones and bars & balls. Whether you want to eat salty or sweet food in the morning, or want to have breakfast at home or have a breakfast, you will definitely find some healthy breakfast ideas you like.
Healthy breakfast oats
Oats are rich in fiber, so they are a healthy breakfast! However, if you are like me, you may be at risk of falling into oatmeal. In college, I eat regular instant oatmeal. Four years later, I can't stand it. To avoid exhaustion of oats, make sure to change the toppings! Any nut butter, fruit, dried fruit, yogurt, nuts, seeds or jam is a fair game. Change the way you prepare oats. Make baked oatmeal or homemade oatmeal, or prepare a large batch of overnight oats for breakfast throughout the week.
Egg breakfast recipe
If you want to prioritize protein for breakfast, the egg recipe is a good choice. Breakfast platter, omelets and fried eggs may recur, so try using one of the following recipes to make changes. Use a muffin jar to make a separate frittata for breakfast. On days when you have more time, sit down with your partner or family for a large breakfast casserole or shakshuka.
Healthy breakfast smoothie
Smoothies are some of the best breakfast recipes because they contain a lot of fruits and vegetables in the first meal of the day. After years of making the smoothie, I found that there are almost no spinach, so throwing some spinach can increase the nutrition of the fruit smoothie! Alternatively, superfoods such as hemp seeds, nut butter, matcha tea or maca powder can be mixed to enhance health.
Make a smoothie the night before and store it in the refrigerator for an instant breakfast or prepare a separate smoothie bag. Distribute a single smoothie of fruit, vegetables, and superfood ingredients to a container and prepare for multiple days at a time. Store the container in the refrigerator and mix the frozen package with almond milk or fruit juice in the morning. Please enjoy!
Healthy breakfast bowl
If you're looking for some new out-of-the-box breakfast ideas, a breakfast bowl might be your choice. In this category, almost everything is absent. When making savory bowls, I put cooked eggs, vegetables and sauces on the "rice" of cereals or vegetables. My sweet bowl has changed a lot. Sometimes I want to eat chia pudding or smoothie bowls. On other days, I add almond milk, cinnamon powder and fresh fruit to quinoa before making another meal.
Quick Bread Breakfast Recipe
Moist, comfortable, slightly sweet instant bread is a good breakfast option. In the summer, I almost always put a few slices of zucchini bread in the refrigerator. In autumn and winter, pumpkin and banana bread will replace it. Enjoy thick slices of your favorite quick bread alone or add a pinch of Greek yogurt and seasonal fruits to enhance staying power.
Pancake and waffle breakfast ideas
Pancakes and waffles may not be something you can do every morning, but unlike cousin's French toast, these breakfast recipes will stay in good shape if you can make them go forward and freeze. So double your weekend pancakes or waffles and freeze leftovers to fix busy mornings! When you are ready to eat, thaw them in a toaster or microwave.
Healthy breakfast tacos
After living in Austin for many years, tortilla breakfast is my favorite healthy breakfast. Most commonly, if I have eggs on hand, I'll bother with spinach and eggs, then add avocado, ketchup salsa and galle bread with eggs. Otherwise, I add grilled vegetables such as sweet potatoes, shiitake or cherry tomatoes to the egg filling. I like to prepare these in advance, so all I have to do in the morning is to add a few eggs and load everything into a tortilla.
